If you want to know more about the president's job this is the section for you.
The main role of the president is to be the legal representative of the association and is the only one who has to sign official documents like grant's agreements or partnerships and sponsors contracts.
My main task is to coordinate the work of the Board, to help, guide and motivate them whenever needed.
This work requires time and not always is easy to follow the work other people are doing, especially because I also have something to do by myself and because of the main travels all the Board members are doing.
But when everybody is in Brussels is much easier.
Board meetings are important moments every month to exchange knowledge and information among Board members, but to follow really the work and to create a good team is important the day by day confront and discussion.
For this reason we decided to introduce at the end of every day half an hour of debriefing where every Board member tells the others what s/he wanted to do during the day and what s/he finally did.
Coordinating the Board is not an easy task, especially because we are living together and we have a friendly relationship among us.
The most difficult task is to be professional whenever needed, making people understand if they did something wrong, but without making them feel offended, and always aim to improve the situation.
Another main task of my job is representation of ESN towards our main stakeholders.
I am sharing this responsibility with Matthias to be always in two people available to speak with the European Commission, with University Associations, and to go to conferences. We are also sharing the responsibilities about EVS, involving Sara in different projects (ESN Survey from my side, 20th Anniversary from Matthias side) and about the ESN Secretary Agnes.
I am also the contact person for our responsible people towards the European Youth Forum (Jelena Brankovic) and the TNP3 Thematic Network of Languages (Anna Laudy).
I have also to work in close contact with CNR coordinating team and responsible of some working groups.
I am coordinator of CND WG and Board member of Long Term Vision and ESN Survey.
If you want to know more about this WG go on the WG pages!
I hope to have given you an insight of my job, what can I tell you more? It's nice to be the president of ESN! :-)
