Being President means
- having the overview of what is going on in ESN
- supporting, motivating, coordinating other Board Members (and all ESNers)
- having an open ear to every kind of new ideas, suggestions, feedback, complaints, congratulations
- giving new ideas, suggestions, feedback, congratulations
- representing ESN to the outside world (meetings, conferences, seminars etc.)
- representing International student affairs (at the same conferences, seminars, etc. as above)
- planning, coordinating, processing information
This wide spectrum of 'general' tasks is amazingly interesting and fulfilling, but it's not the end of the line. Two projects enrich my volunteering day, which you can see below.
PRIME
As coordinator of the Problems of Recognition in Making Erasmus research, I stay in contact with and manage the international coordinating team and the 102 local researchers! Within the international coordinating team we make the questionnaire and eventually the analysis of the results.
20 Anniversary of ESN
Marketa being the overall person in charge for the whole project in the Board makes this an easy task :-) Basically, I am the link to the ESN Train team to see how the Board and whole ESN can support and benefit from this amazing project.
Furthermore, affairs related to the European Youth Forum and LANQUA fall under my responsibility. This means, I receive updates and information, which I analyse and process, from our two liaison officers, Jelena from ESN Belgrade and Anna from ESN UW respectively.
Additionally, I enjoy being the Board responsible for the Long Term Vision, the Grant, and the Fundraising working group. Feel free to join one of these (or any other working group) to bring ESN International several steps forward.
Also, the contact to the CNR Coordinating team, the monthly Board Meeting's agenda and the bi-weekly Board report are my pleasant duties.
To conclude, it's a busy life in Brussels, but a very good one, because I know for whom I volunteer - for ESN, our values, our members, our students.
