While I was in Warsaw attending the amazing CNR, italian sections were working hard :) My Vice NR Veerle was there...here a report of both events.
The Italian National Platform took place in Kutro, in the region Calabria. We had two days of National Platform, 20-21 of may and it was organized by ESN Cosenza.
During those 2 days we had our statute changes approved and because of the new statute we had to expell 3 sections (ESN Trieste, ESN Bocconi, ESN Lecce), but we presented also 2 new possible sections who were put on trial by the national board earlier. We had our budget plan approved, discussed about the ESN Supporters of the Italian board. Further we talked about the PRIME project, future events like the sunweek in Palermo, the situation of the ESN Card in Italy, and possibile partners for ESN Italy.
The 22th of may all delegates were asked to go to a conference ‘mobility as an instrument to dialogue in Europe’ in Crotone where the president of ESN Italy, Nicola Alvaro, was invited to speech as well as were the mayor of Crotone, the Dott.ssa Clara Grano, LLP Italia National Agency, and Loredana Oliva, journalist and writer.
After the conference it was time to turn back to the village in Kutro, in the region Calarbia, where 1050 erasmus students were arriving to start the Italian National Event 2008. The organizing committee was this year again ESN Cosenza.
During the event they planned 2 trips, one to Castello Santa Severina, and one to Le Castella. Furthermore in the village there was a big swimming pool with a dj where we had a lot of fun, the entertainers of the village organized for us watergym and much more activities like football, tennis. The erasmus students could also go to the sea at 300meters from the village.
In the evening we gathered all together in the area of the big swimming pool to party. On Friday the party was transformed in a DJ contest, where erasmus students as well as active members of ESN could show their talent.
The National Event was a great succes, the people form Cosenza even organized besides a lot of fun a lot of sun! Thank you ESN Cosenza, thank you to all participants, and hope to see you all again on our next National Event because of course you are all invited next year!!
