Thank you in advance for your effort in going through this post, I promise you will find it useful (but only if you read it ;))
Question number 1: do you know what Europass is?
(answer: Europass is a new way of helping people to: make their skills and qualifications clearly and easily understood in Europe (European Union, EFTA/EEA and candidate countries), ant therefore move anywhere in Europe.)
Europass consists of five documents:
* two documents (Europass curriculum vitae (CV) and Europass Language Passport) you can fill in yourself; and
* three other documents (Europass Certificate Supplement, Europass Diploma Supplement and Europass Mobility) filled in and issued by competent organisations.
Now, question number 2: do you know what Europass Mobility is?
(answer: the Europass Mobility is a record of any organised period of time (called Europass Mobility experience) that a person spends in another European country for the purpose of learning or training)
This includes for example:
* a work placement in a company;
* an academic term as part of an exchange programme;
* a voluntary placement in an NGO.(EVS for example)
The mobility experience is monitored by two partner organisations, the first in the country of origin and the second in the host country. Both partners agree on the purpose, content and duration of the experience; a mentor is identified in the host country. The partners may be universities, schools, training centres, companies, NGOs, etc.
Who is it for?
The Europass Mobility is intended for any person undergoing a mobility experience in a European country, whatever their age or level of education.
Who is responsible for completing it?
The Europass Mobility is completed by the home and host organisations involved in the mobility project in a language agreed between both organisations and the person concerned.
Examples of Europass Mobility
Where can it be obtained?
Please contact the organisation sending you abroad and ask them to contact their Europass National Centre.
Ok, what is there for ESN?
ESN is an organization that deals with mobility – people-students who move in another country for a period of time. So, for ESN and Erasmus/exchange students this is a tool more to have their experience recognized by institutions in charge. Also, very important, Europass in general is very popular among youth organizations, and is considered as one of the tool for recognition of non-formal education. ESN is also active within EVS (also something different Europass documents can apply to). And of course, possibilities are enormous, you just have to explore them!
And if you knew all of this before you read the post, congratulations! :)
Yours,
Jelena
